Driving out for this Lake Orion farm engagement session was a tough one…it was gloomy, it had just started raining and we just weren’t sure if Danielle and Sean were going to be up for it. But boy oh boy would we have missed out on the opportunities to get these amazing shots!!
Any more sun and we wouldn’t be able to have them looking certain directions. Plus her dad had picked up a big ol’ umbrella that worked so well, it could be one of my faves from this session!

Also, for city folk they were ready with their cowboy boots for some shots, so it didn’t matter much if it was a little wet. It just made it all the more authentic!
We are so glad that being from Chicago they chose us to be their Michigan wedding photographers, thanks you guys!!! You were a lot of fun.

Nic and Nicole visited from out of state and while they were here we got to do their engagement photo session at our farm property. It was a tad chillier we were hoping for but at least we dodged some rain!

The barn was perfect for “warming up” and while we were in there we used the beautiful wood textures and our creative flash abilities to get beautiful work in there too. When we did make it out the field the birch trees were a perfect backdrop too.

Josh and Jenna went to school there, met there and fell in love there. So could we even take their engagement photos anywhere else?!

It was a really beautiful day and as it usually happens, the time flew by. When we were done with our time, Josh was trying to get more photos taken and we said “the time is up, we have to head back to the studio.” He was really surprised and probably thought we were trying to cut the shoot short!

It seemed like they had a really nice time exploring the campus after having been gone for a couple years now. That has to be weird to not know anyone when they probably knew a lot of faces just walking to and from their classes. We got a great mixture of cute, fun and silly photos. I think they may have liked being able to do so much hugging in one block of time.

We have been blessed with so many University of Michigan couples lately and Eli and Sarika are contributing to that trend. On the heels of the Wolverines making it to the final game during this year’s March Madness we got to spend the afternoon meeting and getting to know them a little more.

The wind might have been blowing, it might have been at least 5 degrees cooler than was “promised”, but look at how great they look! We brought them to a “new” spot we “discovered” recently and I’m so glad we made it over there. This is why downtown locations are so fun; same downtown Rochester so we know how much time to dedicate to driving but different block and we have a whole new location. Variety, sweet variety!

Our new friends made the journey from Ann Arbor today so you always have to hope the weather cooperates. I think Eli may have doubted us at the beginning but all in all I think we all won!
Thanks Eli and Sarika, we are looking forward to seeing how many places we can sit you down and how long we can get you to look longingly at one another just so soon!!
