Beautiful weather and beautiful people, two ingredients for a fantastic photo shoot! We shot Nick and Brittany’s engagement pictures in Orion Township, Michigan at the farm house. They are super friendly and easy to talk to, which made the shoot fly by… since time flies, when you’re having fun (sorry for the cheesiness, but it’s true!) They drove over from Chicago for the weekend and managed to squeeze us into their busy schedule, which was great because we had so much fun with this couple.

We shot Jenese and Terrell’s engagement pictures in downtown Detroit, Michigan on a sunny but extremely windy day on the Dequindre cut!

The Dequindre Cut Greenway is an urban recreational path, officially opened to the public in May of 2009. The 1.35-mile greenway, developed through a public, nonprofit and private partnership, offers a pedestrian link between the Riverfront, Eastern Market and many of the residential neighborhoods in between.

Terrell and Jenese are a lot of fun and easy to work with; we had a lot of laughs throughout the shoot, which is great because it makes everyone relaxed and makes the time go by quickly.

We shot Joel and Carol’s engagement shoot on an absolutely beautiful morning at Van Hoosen Farms in Rochester Hills, Michigan. It was warm and sunny and the conversation was great. Joel and Carol are very easy-going and kind people. We can’t wait to shoot their wedding this summer and document the next chapter of their lives together.

We photographed LaMarr and Jordan in Clarkston, Michigan back on a beautiful day in September. LaMarr is a line-backer for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he and Jordon are originally from Michigan. We were able to shoot their engagement photos when they came back home to visit family for the weekend. Downtown Clarkston was a great location to shoot because it offers both an urban backdrop with the great historic buildings, and a more scenic backdrop with the conveniently located park.

We had an awesome engagement shoot at the farm in Orion, Michigan. Matt is about a foot taller than Christina so we had to be creative with the posing. It was a cold morning so they had to do a lot of snuggling to keep each other warm… which I know they didn’t mind doing at all!

We shot Kyle and Kristin’s engagement shoot in various spots in Detroit, Michigan. We started off at the Renaissance Center and since they are both huge Lions and Tigers fans, we got some cool shots in front of Comerica Park. Kyle and Kristin are very fun and easy to be around and were very natural with each other, which allowed us to get great pictures that were relaxed and fun!

Kelly and Michael live in Los Angeles, but were able to sneak away for a visit to Michigan. Lucky for us, because we were able to shoot their engagement pictures in Rochester, MI on a beautiful, sunny day! Kelly and Michael are both gracious and sweet people… a real treat to work with.

Todd and Andrea were seriously the coolest people! We had such a great time taking their engagement pictures in Oakland County, MI at the farmhouse because they are such an easy-going, fun couple. Todd really wanted to be a part of the ‘photo planning’ and was coming up with all sorts of ideas. For instance, Todd wanted he and Andrea to creep around the tall grass with just their heads popping out… just like prairie dogs! See, such a fantastic idea! Also, we were very excited because this is the first time we were able to use the old 50s truck in a photo shoot, and it made for some fantastic shots!

We had a great time shooting Elda and Martin’s engagement photos in various locations in downtown Birmingham. We were across from the Townsend hotel in a parking structure, we were in allies, street corners and parks… everywhere! Also, it was a gorgeous, warm day with a lot of laughs and funny stories; we love working with couples who can joke around and laugh at themselves because it makes the time fly by!

I say storm chasing, but really… we were trying to outrun the storms on this day. Angela and Dan drove all the way from Allen Park to get their engagement photos done at the Orion, Michigan Farm house. However, when we went to the farm it started pouring rain as soon as we turned down the street it is located on. Prem decided we should go into Downtown Lake Orion for the engagement shoot instead, because that way if the rain stopped we wouldn’t have to deal with the wet, muddy ground. So, we go to Lake Orion in rush hour traffic and the sky turns green and the monsoon continues. We decided to look at the weather radar and predict where the storm would be headed next… that’s when we saw a breakage in the clouds over Downtown Auburn Hills, MI. And that’s where we went!!… We ended up having a beautiful engagement shoot in Auburn Hills with two of the most easy going, go with the flow people!

Last week we were able to carve out a slice of Jared’s busy schedule to get to know him and Alison during their engagement photo session.
The engagement photos are the perfect opportunity to do a trial run before the wedding and get everyone in front of the camera along with helping us know what style our clients are most drawn to.
Alison’s choice in photos just solidified that we are a perfect fit to photograph their wedding!
