Working with Andrea and Andy Zielinsky again was so much fun, we shot their wedding five years ago at Pine Knob Carriage House http://arisingimages.com/blog/zielinsky-wedding/69/ and now we had the pleasure of shooting their one year old son, Adam. We went to the farm house on a day that started off with rain and wind and ended up being a gorgeous sunny afternoon… a day great for pictures.
Adam’s favorite line of the day was, “Ahhh Boooooom!!!” This picture captured one of those precious moments, when he stumbled and said his infamous line.
“Never Let Go…”
Sometimes all you need is your Mama…
This was Adam’s reaction when a dog was brought on set… such a happy little guy!!

Last week we had fun shooting Maggie’s communion photos. We went out to our farmhouse and did some really pretty pictures in her white communion dress and then we had her change clothes into something more suiting to her personality and captured a lot of images that showed off her spunk!
This morning we did a photo shoot for Patti who is a family friend. Patti and her husband adopted their grand children Hunter and Dominic who are amazing kids. A few weeks ago, Hunter was diagnosed with bone cancer and she is going through some aggressive chemo and has already lost her hair. However, she is super upbeat and positive and has a smile that will light up a room! We had a lot of fun photographing them this morning.
From now through May 10, we will be doing discounted photo shoots for kids and babies as a fundraiser.
Until May 10th, our kids and babies photo shoots will start at $99 instead of $375. From that $99, $50 will go to an organization called Invisible Children which is a non-profit organization which raises awareness about the plight of the children in Uganda along with helping to build schools to rehabilitate them. In Uganda, over 30,000 children as young as 10 years old have been abducted and turned into fighters, laborers or sex slaves for a war that has been going on for 25 years.
The money for this fundraiser will help a great organization that is making a difference.

We are blessed that we live in a country where our kids are not exposed to death and violence. Our children have the opportunity to grow up in safe homes where they get to laugh and play while on the other side of the world, children are being forced to murder and in some cases have even been forced to murder their own families. They have lived their entire lives not knowing what peace looks like.
We are very blessed. Lets not forget how blessed we are.
Kids deserve to know joy and laughter no matter where they live.
Kids deserve to know joy and laughter no matter where they live.

A few weeks ago we had a lot of fun shooting some family pics with our good friends Keesha and Bobby and her family.
They are wedding clients turned friends, and we were glad to get to know Keesha’s mom and sister better…they are soooo cute.
This session was a great mothers day gift!
Last week we had the chance to take some super fun photos of the kids at the Premier Academy in Rochester hills, MI. These photos and many more will be used to show off how awesome the school is! Our kids go there and we love the school and love the staff!!
2010 was an amazing year for us and I put together a collection of images shot throughout the year that includes photos and paintings from weddings, landscapes, babies, high school seniors, etc.
These images were created through a lot of hard work, but we feel blessed to have been a part of all these things and hope you enjoy this video slideshow.
On January 22nd we will be doing free photo shoots with our winter scene as a fundraiser. We will require a min $50 donation to charity: water, and then all of the products available from the pictures will all be discounted 30-60% off from our regular prices. All profits will be donated to charity: water to help bring clean drinking water to villages where people die from waterborne diseases.
Here’s more details about the photo shoots we will be doing:
We recently took some unique family photos for Jim and Linda and their two children Nick and Jackie on the amazing grounds of Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Nick and Jackie are both very involved students at Cranbrook Kingswood. We first got to know the family while taking Nick’s senior pictures this past summer. Capturing artistic images for this stylish family was a breeze, including the solo pictures we took for the mature-beyond-her-years Jackie.

We wanted to thank all of you who participated in our winter photo fundraiser. Thanks to all of you, so far we have been able to raise $3,170 for charity: water which will go directly towards helping bring clean drinking water to areas of the world where people die every day from water born diseases. Our goal is to raise $5000 which is enough money to dig a well.
Some of you may have seen the 20/20 special on TV last night that featured the work that charity: water is doing. If you didn’t see the special, you can see part of it here: http://abcnews.go.com/2020/video/donate-birthday-build-12428302
For any of you that are interested in helping us with this project, tax deductible donations can be made directly to our online campaign here: http://mycharitywater.org/arisingimages
We will be doing another fundraiser photo shoot on January 22nd to try to reach our goal. We will be doing the same style of photos. For the first fundraiser, spots for the photo shoots filled up really fast.
We will be taking reservations for this second round differently so make sure to read up on the details here: http://arisingimages.com/miscellaneous/promos/2011/201101_winter_scene/
This past summer we had a mudpit shoot at our studio in Rochester Hills, MI with siblings Saira & Raj. Due to scheduling conflicts, we were just able to get together with the family to view the pics. Of all the unique kids photography that we do, this is definitely one of the most fun activities to capture! Saira and Raj got to do cartwheels, jumps, catch and play “horsey” in the mud; what messy joy!
Over the last few weeks, my heart has been heavy thinking about the over 1 BILLION people in the world that have unclean water and sanitation. It’s easy to think about them being so far away and forget them as we have our own problems to deal with here. But when we forget them, their suffering continues. Try to live just one day without water to drink, cook, wash, etc. with.
We decided to partner with an amazing organization called Charity: Water (www.charitywater.org) to do our part to help bring water to those that have none.
To do this, we will be having a fundraiser photo shoot promotion (details below) and 100% of the profits/donations will go towards digging wells to bring water to hundreds of people.
To hear more about this amazing organization, here is a link to a short video about how/why they started. When you watch this video, imagine that the people in the photos and videos are you and your kids:
If you are unable to take advantage of this photo shoot fundraiser, please consider donating at: http://mycharitywater.org/arisingimages
and help us to reach our goal of providing water for 250 people.
The promotion that we will be running is something very different than we’ve ever done before. We will be doing fun winter photos of kids playing in the snow…except it’s actually a scene that we created indoors. We’re not big on sets and props so to do this, I wanted it to look real. We’ve worked hard to create a realistic snow scene and will work even harder to get amazing photos of your children while donating 100% of the profits to bring water to those that need it.
We’ve taken a lot of fun photos of our kids and even made some amazing pieces to hang on our walls which we can show you when you come for your shoot.
For now, here’s just a few pics of our son Mayz having a great time.
The Details:
On Saturday November 20, we will be booking shoots from 9:30-3:00..
We are not going to be charging for this photo session, however, we will be asking for a minimum $50 donation check made out to “charity: water”. Donations of any additional amount will be accepted. If you have more than 2 children, we will be asking for an additional minimum donation of $25 per child.
Please either bring a check or donate online (http://mycharitywater.org/arisingimages) and bring your donation receipt that is emailed to you within a few hours from making your donation.
The shoots will be for 20 minutes with a additional time when there are lots of kids and we will provide you with an order form that you can use that shows you creative things that you can do with your photos from prints and Christmas cards to framed or canvas wall hangings. All of the profits from this will also be donated to Charity: Water.
Shoots can be done on different days and times for an additional donation.
This set works best when photographing one child at a time, however, if you have small children, up to 3 can be photographed together. This promotion was designed for kids 10 and under but if they have an older sibling, they can be in the photos as well.
Please bring winter clothes for your kids. Hats, mittens, scarves, snow pants, etc. Feet will be hidden so shoes or boots don’t matter.
Contact the studio to book now (586-944-7736 or info@arisingimages.com)
All products from this shoot will be 30-60% off and you will receive an order form and be presented with all the options after your shoot.
100% of all profits will be donated to Charity: Water.
