Fundraiser: Get Photos – Give Water – Give Life

Over the last few weeks, my heart has been heavy thinking about the over 1 BILLION people in the world that have unclean water and sanitation. It’s easy to think about them being so far away and forget them as we have our own problems to deal with here. But when we forget them, their suffering continues. Try to live just one day without water to drink, cook, wash, etc. with.

We decided to partner with an amazing organization called Charity: Water (www.charitywater.org) to do our part to help bring water to those that have none.

To do this, we will be having a fundraiser photo shoot promotion (details below) and 100% of the profits/donations will go towards digging wells to bring water to hundreds of people.

The promotion that we will be running is something very different than we’ve ever done before. We will be doing fun winter photos of kids playing in the snow…except it’s actually a scene that we created indoors. We’re not big on sets and props so to do this, I wanted it to look real. We’ve worked hard to create a realistic snow scene and will work even harder to get amazing photos of your children while donating 100% of the profits to bring water to those that need it.

We’ve taken a lot of fun photos of our kids and even made some amazing pieces to hang on our walls which we can show you when you come for your shoot.
For now, here’s just a few pics of our son Mayz having a great time.

The Details:
On Saturday November 20, we will be booking shoots from 9:30-3:00..

We are not going to be charging for this photo session, however, we will be asking for a minimum $50 donation check made out to “charity: water”. Donations of any additional amount will be accepted. If you have more than 2 children, we will be asking for an additional minimum donation of $25 per child.
Please either bring a check or donate online (http://mycharitywater.org/arisingimages) and bring your donation receipt that is emailed to you within a few hours from making your donation.

The shoots will be for 20 minutes with a additional time when there are lots of kids and we will provide you with an order form that you can use that shows you creative things that you can do with your photos from prints and Christmas cards to framed or canvas wall hangings. All of the profits from this will also be donated to Charity: Water.

Shoots can be done on different days and times for an additional donation.

This set works best when photographing one child at a time, however, if you have small children, up to 3 can be photographed together. This promotion was designed for kids 10 and under but if they have an older sibling, they can be in the photos as well.

Please bring winter clothes for your kids. Hats, mittens, scarves, snow pants, etc. Feet will be hidden so shoes or boots don’t matter.

Today we did a fun, natural family photo shoot at the park in Rochester, MI for Matt & Melissa and their 10 month old son Tyler. What a great looking bunch! Tyler was as cute as can be with those big blue eyes and his very first tooth! The sky was rather gray, but we thought we were quick enough to miss the incoming rain…not quite! Everyone got a little wet, but Tyler didn’t seem to mind a few drops.

This past week we did a really fun photo shoot with our friends the Cesarios. When photographing young families we love the photos to be casual with the kids playing and having fun while the parents tickle and goof around with the kids. Their family was perfect for that.
After a short but fun shoot, they decided to give the mud pit a try and all four of their kids jumped in with reckless abandon. These kids were not afraid to get muddy and boy did they ever have a blast!!!

We recently photographed children at the Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac, MI in order to help them create their 2011 Calendar with proceeds benefiting those in need. Grace Centers of Hope is a non-profit Christian organization committed to positively changing the lives of the homeless, addicted and unwanted through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, personal accountability, life skills education and work-related programs. The organization also has several thrift store locations where you can donate or shop and proceeds go back to supporting the mission.

Sisters Katie & Colleen came to our studio today for some fun pictures before they both go away to college. Katie is a current student at Grand Valley State University and Colleen will be starting there in the fall. We’ve taken senior photos for both girls too so it was great to see them again!

It was supposed to storm the day we went over to the Schmidt’s house for a family photo shoot, but we were lucky enough to see great weather instead. This super kind and friendly bunch was a lot of fun to shoot. With three kids and an infant running around the energy was very lively. We even got to help catch frogs!

Recently we had the pleasure of getting to hang out with little Tyler to do some fun photos in the studio.

On Monday morning we had the opportunity to get together with our friends Ralph and Devon and photograph them with their little baby Jaia. We shot their wedding two years ago, and did baby pics with Jaia last year as well. She is a super cute little girl who was really easy to take fun kids photos for.

A few days ago we had a really fun photo shoot with little Caitlin. She was really adorable with a great mix of shy and playful.
Caitlin had a lot of fun riding around on her scooter and occasionally looking up at the camera with her shy little smile.

Last week we had an incredible photo shoot with the Barnes family. Their girls were ridiculously adorable with their little pink dresses.
When we do kids photography, we love to let the kids run and play and do what they do while we can capture really natural and fun pictures of them.

We recently did a studio shoot for the Michaels Kids. Little Johnny was a riot…he wanted to have no part of hanging out with his big brothers.
We spent an hour chasing him all over the place!!

Recently we photographed the Crocenzi family at their Rochester Hills home. We wanted to do a mixture of a traditional family portrait along with a modern family portrait. I ended up doing a painting of the more traditional family picture as well.
