This weekend was Dereck and Julia’s wedding at the amazing Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn MI. It is one of the most unique wedding venues in Michigan and home to greenfield village and lovett hall as well, which provide beautiful outdoor wedding scenery for photographs. The energy at this wedding was vibrant and joyous; everyone really got down on the dance floor! We enjoyed working with the always impeccable Emerald City Designs, who provided the beautiful floral arrangements and decor.

Last night I had the opportunity to check out a beautiful wedding venue called Waldenwoods right on Lake Walden in Hartland, MI.
It’s a serene location for an outdoor wedding with a country feel. The staff is relaxed and friendly and the food is terrific.
If you are looking for an “up north” wedding without the drive, this is the perfect place!

I was so inspired by the beauty of the venue that I came home and started painting and created two paintings showing this amazing venue.

We photographed a very sweet couple Sam and Angela this past weekend at the beautiful Meadowbrook mansion. For anyone that hasn’t seen it, Meadow Brook Hall is an amazing place for an outdoor summer wedding in Rochester, MI. For those looking for a wedding in a garden setting, there is no better place. Meadow Brook also boasts a huge tent for an outdoor reception that is still sheltered in the event of inclement weather.
Everything went off without a hitch and we were blessed with a day with only a few sprinkles even though it threatened rain all day. It was very touching when Angela and her dad danced together during the reception to a song that he had recorded himself singing.
We also had the pleasure of working with Lee and Lisa Thomas on video. I can’t wait to see their trailer!

There were a few sprinkles in the sky on this hot day but it actually created a rainbow right over the tent!

Yesterday morning, Mike and Stacy were married on the patio at Andiamo’s in Dearborn. We met up with them early to do their main photo shoot at Lovett Hall and Greenfield Village and had a fun time taking photos of them. We’ve known Mike for a few years and have just had the pleasure of getting to know Stacy who looked like she just stepped out of a wedding fashion magazine.

During the ceremony, Stacy’s eight year old daughter was invited to partake in the vows. She wept as she accepted Mike into their family and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Cheridy and I struggled to keep our own composure as both of us had tears welling up in our eyes.

This weekend was the wedding of Eric and Jacqueline at the gorgeous Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester MI. This is one of the top rated venues in the state and Meadow Brook is picture perfect for outdoor weddings. The castle and gardens make for an ideal and luxurious setting that is stunning to photograph year round. It was supposed to storm that day but the weather held up nicely so everyone was able to enjoy the fresh summer air, no umbrellas necessary. Jacqueline made a dramatic entrance at the ceremony by walking out of a fog filled tent wearing a magnificent dress by Katerina Bocci. We also had the pleasure of working with top notch event planner Kathy Byrum from Dream Weddings & Event Planners.

This weekend we photographed Adam & Lauren’s wedding. The ceremony was held at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Chapel and the reception was at the Orchard Lake Country Club both in Orchard Lake, MI. It was a HOT day with some rain showers, yet Lauren was a total trooper about the weather and our creative rescheduling of portraits. The beautiful day had a spectacular ending as fireworks went off on the lake in honor of the new husband and wife.

Last weekend we photographed the wedding of a lovely couple Tom and Kristin. The ceremony was held in the beautiful gardens at Cranbrook and the reception was at the exquisite Townsend Hotel. The day started with Kristin getting her hair and makeup done at Todds Room. She looked stunning in a beautiful gown by Monique Lhullier. We were happy to work alongside coordinator Laura Davis, videographer Don Pham, and transportation specialist Glenn Snively.

We recently had the pleasure of photographing Paul & Julie’s wedding, which was held at a private residence in Grosse Pointe. Everyone we worked with was super easy going and relaxed. Julie’s mom Lois was a friendly and familiar face since she had taken our photo class a few months back. The beautiful and sunny day was perfect for a lavish backyard wedding. The amazing flowers, decor, and coordination were handled by our friends at Emerald City Designs. We also got to work alongside John from JD Entertainment and a great videographer, Christin Russman.

Aaron & Amy’s outdoor wedding ceremony and reception were held at the beautiful Meadow Brook Hall. This is one of Metro Detroit’s premier wedding destinations; They deliver luxury! It was a beautiful and rather hot day, but that is much preferred to rain! Everything turned out great. There was a strolling dinner and amazing dessert spread. We felt so welcomed by everyone in their families and bridal party; Such genuine and nice people! It was also great to work with two of our referred vendors: DJ and event planner Mary Ann Ross and Minister Miriam Jerris.

As mentioned, the desserts were a huge hit!
