These were also painted off of images that I took at the Easter service last year.

I just finished making a new wall display of images that I painted using Corel Painter. These images will be printed at Simply Canvas on their gallery wraps which look really cool, and then we’re going to hang them in our bedroom.

I played around a bit more this afternoon. I’m really having fun with this and am FINALLY seeing some skills develop. It’s been a long and frustrating road with this program, but I’m starting to get it. However, I still have a ridiculous amount to learn still related to brush work and artistry.

I’m really getting into this Corel Painter stuff and having a good time exploring new brushes and painting techniques:

Today I went to an all day Corel Painter class taught by Kathy Falls.
The most helpful part about it was being away from home and being in an environment where I could do nothing but paint. I really enjoyed the class and learned some nice tips from Kathy.

On Monday I’m going to be taking a Corel Painter class to help further develop my painting skills. I had to install Painter on my laptop and after doing so, I got wrapped up in it and decided to play with one of my recent photos:

I spent a little time this evening doing some painting on some of JoBeth’s pictures. These are images that we sell as a product called the Pirlo which is printed on canvas.

I liked this photo from Adam and Natalie’s church so much that I had a little fun doing a painted rendition of it this afternoon

Finally after many months of playing around, I think I’ve finally found the harmony I was looking for between painting and photoshop and I am excited to finally be able to start offering our product called The Pirlo which is a photograph turned into a piece of artwork.

In my never ending quest to create more artistic and unique images, I am starting to explore more textural overlays. There is a photographer/artist named Jesh de Rox who is amazing with this and I purchased some really cool texture files from him to use during the image editing process.

In my quest to learn Corel Painter, I came across an amazing artist named Jeremy Sutton who works/teaches out of San Francisco. Jeremy has a fantastic set of DVD’s where he teaches some of his painting techniques. You can see some of Jeremy’s work here: http://www.jeremysutton.com/glry-theme-artists.html

One of the techniques that he teaches on his DVD set is a watercolor technique. Here is my first attempt after watching his DVD’s. I still have a long way to go, but it’s a fun learning process.
