Nicole and Kyle

Nicole and Kyle got married yesterday. They had their reception at Cherry Creek golf club and had an absolutely amazing display for their receptions setup with the flowers done by Bellisario’s. Unfortunately it was insanely hot and muggy with no breeze and after being outside for pictures for just a few minutes, it got hot and exausting. Nicole and Kyle pushed through it and we were able to have some fun and get some good pictures.

Tonight we did senior pics for Faye. Faye was a more serious soul but when she smiled, it was gorgeous!! We typically like a more serious look for a lot of our portraits, but with Faye, we really liked it when she smiled.

Tonight we shot some family pictures for the Sperry family. We shot Stephen Jr.’s senior pics a few months ago and they decided to bring the whole family back. What a great family…these guys were beautiful inside and out. A super nice family who looks like they stepped straight out of a magazine…a photographers dream!!

Saturday’s wedding was a sweltering hot day at Cherry Creek Golf Club. It was about 95 degrees outside with barely any shade during their outdoor ceremony. Luckily the air conditioning was cranked up and we were all able to keep cool inside for most of the day.
Ron and Amy were a really fun couple to work with. Ron…otherwise known as “Ronnie G” was quite a character and kept us laughing all day. You can tell that their marriage will be filled with laughter and good times.

Ronnie G in all his glory

A small tear trickling out of Amy’s eye when they saw eachother for the first time.

Cheridy and I just got back from a vacation to Austria. We rented a car and drove all over the country to see the amazing architecture, beautiful mountains, hilltop fortresses, etc. etc. etc. It was really beautiful!! All the images can be viewed/purchased from our website at:
http://www.arisingimages.com/fineart/austria_2006/index.htm

Here are a few of my favorites:

Sailboats on the Truan See

Hilltop church on the Truan See

A rainy day in the Austrian Alps

Landskron Fortress

The next two are of Burg Hochosterwitz which is supposedly the castle used as the inspiration for the castle in Sleeping Beauty

The Upper Belvedere Castle in Vienna:

Town of Hallstat on the Hallstatter See

Small castle tucked away across from Hallstat

Cheridy and I typically do a TERRIBLE job of taking photos of ourselves when on vacation. She did a good job of reminding us to do that occasionally.

She was a good sport to stand next to the “schmuck” sign

Nate and Sue…day 2

Yesterday was the 2nd day of Nate and Sue’s wedding. The first day was the Bengali ceremony and the second day was the Christian ceremony. Day 2 proved to be a bit more challenging than day 1. Most of the event was indoors will dim overhead tungsten light which always makes things a bit difficult. After the ceremony we took the whole bridal party and a few extra friends of their to downtown Birmingham to do some pictures. Trying to coordinate a group of 20 people can be challenging. We were able to get some really fun shots of Sue and Nate in the city after we were done with the bridal party.

These first two pictures were some pretty cool ideas that Cheridy had:

and here are some of mine:

Nate and Sue…day 1

Yesterday was day one of Nate and Sue’s wedding. The first day was the Indian ceremony and the second day (which starts in a few hours) will be a Christian ceremony.
The ceremony and party was at Sue’s parents house. Their friends, family, and neighbors were all extremely helpful and attentive the entire day. One of my favorite things about Sue and Nate is that they are always smiling and laughing. We put together a small book which has a number of engagement pictures that we’ve shot in the last year and when some of our new prospective clients look through that book, they sometimes comment about “the happy couple” because the pics of Nate and Sue that are in the book show genuine laughter. I think that to be labelled “the happy couple” is an amazing compliment to them!
