This evening we helped our friends the Mackey’s with a secret project but I can’t show anymore images until later or it will give it away.

Tonight we shot some high school senior pics for Danielle Vanderworp. Her piercing eyes were just captivating!!

Yesterday was Blair and Renu’s christian wedding and reception. The ceremony was held Christ Church Cranbrook and the reception was on the main grounds of Cranbrook in one of the most beautiful and elaborate tents I’ve ever seen. The wedding is planned and organized by Karen Vasquez from Pearls of Wisdom and the amazing flower arrangements were done by Blossoms in birmingham.
We were definitely scared because the weather was supposed to be horrible today, but our prayers were answered because it turned out to be a fabulous day.

This evening we took senior pictures for Kaitlyn. The evening light was masked by some thin clouds making it soft and perfect for taking pictures!

This weekend is Blair and Renu’s wedding. Last night was the Mehndi at her parents house and Saturday will be the wedding. The weather wasn’t totally cooperative last night but the rain held off during the parts that mattered most. Renu looked absolutely amazing with the striking colors of the fabric and jewelry combined with the beautiful henna paintings on her hands and feet.

Tonight, our church (Kensington Community Church) held baptisms for about 160 people at Stony Creek Metro Park. Cheridy and I went and took photos for them. It was a beautiful sunny evening and we got to witness the baptisms in the lake at sunset which was really cool. While we were at it, we tried grabbing a few artistic shots as well.

We met Deborah about a year ago when she was a student in my photography class that I teach at the Kensington School of the Arts. Scott and Deborah got married tonight in the Chapel at Kensington Community Church and then had their reception at the historic Holly Hotel in downtown Holly, MI. Scott is an extremely artistic person and they’re wedding had a lot of very unique twists…from the music to the cake and ring designs, it was refreshingly different. The day started out really rainy and gloomy but luckily it cleared up enough for us to be able to walk around outside and get some fun pictures with them. We did our best to find really neat textures and backgrounds on the old buildings in Holly. Shooting in a place like this is a lot of fun because of all the variety to choose from. Here are just a couple of our favorites from tonight:

Tonight, Brian and Linda were married in their backyard in Clarkston. It was a very intimate setting with really close family and friends only. It was such a laid back environment, we were made to feel like guests. Here are some of my favorites from tonight.

This past week I went to Chicago for a 4-day photography conference. Wednesday a group of us went downtown to do some shooting. There’s just something really cool about big cities…the lights and color, the symmetry in the architecture, etc. etc.

Owen Holdren and Sarah Steinhagen were married yesterday at the Wyndgate Golf/Country Club. The weather couldn’t have been much nicer - 75 degrees and sunny skies. It was a nice change from the recent weeks of crazy heat and humidity. Owen and Sarah were a lot of fun to work with…very relaxed and laid back and they had great senses of humor and enjoyed making eachother laugh.
Here are just a few shots from their wedding day:

This evening we shot some senior pictures for Helen Andrews. Helen is the daughter of Steve Andrews who is one of the senior pastors from our church and also a good friend who married Cheridy and I a little over 5 years ago. Helen was relaxed and easy going right from the beginning of the shoot. It would be pretty difficult to take a bad picture of Helen…she made it real easy for us!!

Curtis and Jordin came by today to shoot some pics for the one year anniversary of dating. They are both really amazing people that serve God every chance they get. Both of them had us shoot their high school senior pictures last year so it was really cool to see them again.
