David and Karlynn got married in Michigan’s capital city of Lansing today. They were blessed with an absolutely beautiful day. Karlynn had an infectious smile from ear to ear all day long!

We spent a beautiful afternoon out in Birmingham with Asif and Muniba doing their engagement photos. Muniba was in the bridal party of a wedding we shot last year and unfortunately we were not available to shoot their wedding this August, but we were glad to be able to at least do some engagement photos with them.

Cheridy and I have been changing some of the decor in our house. For those of you that know us, we’re pretty simple people and we’ve never been all about “stuff”. However, we are adults now and we needed to get rid of some of the furniture that we’ve had since our college days!! Some stuff is getting tossed, and other stuff is still in good condition so we’re selling it on Craigslist.

Floor runner rug: http://detroit.craigslist.org/hsh/716017385.html

27″CRT television: http://detroit.craigslist.org/hsh/715973663.html

We’ve also been buying a few things off Craigslist too. We found a couple things that were steals!! However…we were also looking for a large area rug for one of our bedrooms and we found someone selling a 10×12 rug. It looked great and was a good price so we bought it. When we got home and opened it up in our 10×12 room, it didn’t even come close to fitting as it was actually a 7.5′x10′ rug instead of 10×12. It also wreaked of dog which I’m quite allergic too so we took it back to the guy since his measurements were WAY off. Thankfully we got our money back, but we wasted a couple hours of time plus gas driving there and back and having to deal with my allergies in rolling and unrolling the stupid thing. All in all it made me want to be more careful when buying used stuff.

Today Cheridy and I took the day off which is way too rare of an event. The weather was so good that we took are little dude out to Metro Beach to hang out for the day. They have an area for kids to splash and play in the fountains so we spent some time in that area and then just went for a nice long walk by the water.
He’s changing so fast it’s crazy. He just started crawling a couple days ago and he’s already very interested in standing and walking although he’s still a long ways away from the balance for that. We just cut his hair yesterday too and we cut off a lot of his black baby hair and revealed his light brown little boy hair. It’s crazy how much different it looks although you can’t really tell in these photos.

How cute are these gigantor shorts on him!!!

We were recently honored to have one of our favorite weddings from last year published in the latest Knot Michigan magazine under their Real Weddings section. The magazine is currently on the newsstands right now. If you pick up a copy, look for Kasey and Jordan’s wedding starting on Page 52.
Or you can download a pdf of the article by clicking here.

Thank you to theKnot.com for providing us with this opportunity.

Yesterday we had an awesome engagement shoot with Sydney and Dave. Sydney and I used to live on the same floor together back in the dorms at the University of Michigan in our freshman year. It’s really cool to get reconnected with her and to see her so happy with Dave.
It was a ridiculously hot and humid day yesterday, but they did fantastic and thankfully we got done before the storms and tornados came through!!!

Earlier today we shot a beautiful wedding with Jason and Debbie. The storm held off and gave us some fun clouds to work with today.

Every once in a while, Cheridy and I are blessed to meet someone extraordinary. We decided to not leave that to chance, so we had a contest called Kingdom Walkers.
A Kingdom Walker is:
1. a person who puts God and others before themselves.
2. someone who takes care of the sick, hungry, and needy.
3. a person who serves whether it be in their own church, the nearest city, or the other side of the world.
4. someone with a humble spirit.
For the contest, people could write in to nominate a high school junior who fit the descriptions above and then we got to choose who we felt was the most deserving student. As the prize for the contest, we would shoot their high school senior photos for free along with giving them a surprise gift which I can’t reveal just yet.
The overwhelming winner of the contest was Sharon Messina from Cousino High School. One of the purposes of the contest is to identify someone like Sharon and to honor her and encourage her to continue to spread love and joy as she has been. We had the pleasure of reading all the amazing things that people wrote about her and it is obvious that Sharon is a blessing to everyone that she comes in contact with.
Here’s just a few things that people had to say about Sharon mixed in with some of the photos we did during her photoshoot:
She is the sweetest, most innocent and humble person I have ever met.

Very rarely do I find anyone among thousands who can compare to her spirit.

Whether it is her friends or those she barely knows, Sharon puts other people first and really does reach out to those in the community that need her help.

She always has a genuine love for those who were hurt or sad.

She has plenty to brag about, but that would never cross her mind. She instead would say she is not worthy of praise or honor.

Yesterday (6/2), Cheridy and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. Celebrate might not be the best word since we had a lot of things going on yesterday, but we’re going to go out to our favorite dinner spot later this week!
It’s really amazing looking back at how different things were 7 years ago. I was an engineer working at GM and Cheridy was a waitress working at the Olive Garden. Since getting married, we’ve had the opportunity to travel the world together and experience places like Egypt, South Africa, and all over western Europe together. Then we started a business together which has since flourished and allowed us to both quit our jobs to run our business. Then in the last year, we were blessed with Mayz who is the sweetest baby ever!
Thanks Cheridy for the best seven years of my life! I love you!!

Today we spent the entire day with Chris and Amanda doing their engagement shoot and ordering session. We started off the day enjoying the amazing weather while walking around the grounds of Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills. Here are some of my favorite photos from their shoot:
