Photographing the proposal is something that we don’t get to do very often. In fact, we’ve only done it one other time. We’ve been talking with Jake for over a month and coming up with plans for him to pop the question. We had a few hiccups in the plan…the biggest one being the crazy rain that we had all day today which forced us to change to an indoor location.
Jake was super nervous as he waited in anticipation for an unsuspecting Katie to arrive. Jake is from South Dakota and Katie had no idea that he was even in town. When she saw him for the first time she was really confused and then excited and then confused again. When he got down on one knee and put the ring on her finger she kept asking if this was real life and if this was really happening. It was a really sweet moment and we were really excited that we got to share that with them. We can’t wait to shoot their wedding!!

This afternoon we did some photos with Tobin and Brecken. We photographed Tobin about two years ago so he was much bigger than when we saw him last and now he has a new little brother.

Our second shoot of the day was with little Brady. When I say little…I mean little. Brady is 3 weeks old and came all the way over from Kalamazoo to get his photos taken.
We typically do all of our really tiny baby photos in black and white but there were a few color ones that I liked a lot.

This afternoon we had a couple of great photo shoots. The first was with Jaia who is the daughter of Ralph and Devon who’s wedding we photographed last year. Their wedding was one we’ll never forget as they had Morris Day and the Time jamming at their reception. Jaia is one of the happiest babies we’ve ever photographed. She just laughed and giggled non stop.

Our recent shoot with Joey went really well. My two favorite products that we offer are our paintings and our sports photos so I was excited to have the opportunity to do both for Joey.
We’re definitely hoping to do more sports layouts for some of our clients, especially the high school seniors who are into a lot of different sports and activities.

and here’s the painting that I did for Joey:

This morning we did some kids photos with Aaron and Devon. Devon was a little sweetie and he would just look at us with those big brown eyes. Big brother Aaron had his own ideas of what he did and did not want to do but we were still able to get some great shots of him!

This morning I was doing a commercial shoot out at Shephard’s Hollow Golf Club to get them some images for their website and marketing materials.
It was an incredible gloomy and rainy day so I had to do a bit of photoshoppery to make it look less nasty outside!

This afternoon we had a lot of laughs with Sina and Bessie as we walked around the grounds at Cranbrook and did their engagement photos. They are super photogenic and had a lot of laughter together which made the photo shoot really fun.
Here’s a few favs from today:

This afternoon we photographed Joey who is the son of a past student of mine. We did some really cool baseball photos that I’ll be working on tonight and tomorrow. Joey wanted to beat up Cheridy because she kept teasing him by calling him a little cutie-pie.

This afternoon we got together with the Renke family once again. We just shot some photos of Jessica recently and when we heard they were just about to get a new puppy, we had the whole clan come back to do some fun photos with their new dog Molly who is one of the cutest puppies I’ve ever seen!

Billie needed some head shots for her new dermatology position so she came in and hung out with us for a little while this afternoon. She’s one of the friendliest people we’ve ever met. Our son Mayz didn’t have a babysitter while we were doing the shoot today so he hung out with us for a little while and he just wanted to hug Billie the whole time.
