This afternoon we got together with the Pfeifers. We photographed their baby Aaron a few years ago and now they were back with their family along with their new little one…Carson.
We photographed Aaron every time he would stop running and then we would switch off and get a few of Carson during his happy moments. We ended up with lots of great photos from today’s session. Here are a few of them:

Today we had a rainy wedding at the Inn at St. Johns in Plymouth, MI. Bryon and Caitlin had their reception in the beautiful atrium. We’ve shot at the Inn at St. Johns a number of times but never photographed in the atrium. In fact, we had never even seen the atrium before and we were blown away by the uniqueness of the room which will definitely get a review coming soon.
At the time we were supposed to head out for photos, it rained…hard…really hard!! That forced us to do the photos all indoors which was actually really fun. This was the perfect day to be inside because we had a beautiful venue with lots of cool places to shoot along with a couple that made our jobs really easy. Shooting indoors forced us to think outside the box in the ways that we posed and lit the photos but Bryon and Caitlin gave us a lot of time to photograph them today so we ended up with an amazing collection of images.
Here’s just a few from today:

Our friend Amber works at Grace Centers of Hope which is an amazing organization in Pontiac, MI. They were in need of photographs for their next calendar which will be used as a fundraiser so Cheridy and I went out there this afternoon and took a bunch of shots of the kids playing and goofing around.
Grace Centers of Hope is Oakland County’s oldest and largest homeless shelter. They are considered one of the leading faith-based organizations in Southeastern Michigan daily confronting issues of homelessness, addiction, poverty and spiritual emptiness. To learn more or to donate to their cause, please go to their website: http://www.gracecentersofhope.org/
The people that work there are all so dedicated and passionate, we were glad to be able to see just a piece of what goes on there.

This afternoon we did a second photo shoot for baby Sydney. She’s on our baby plan where we photograph her three times during her first year to show how much she’s changed.
We first saw her when she was three weeks old and it’s already amazing how much more active and alert she is. She’s about 3.5 months old now.
Here’s a few favorites from today’s shoot.

This afternoon was surprisingly our first wedding we ever shot at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. I can honestly say that it’s probably the most unique venue that we’ve ever worked at and I’ll definitely be posting a revue about it soon. Billy and Melissa had a beautiful ceremony in one of the museum courtyards and an amazing reception on the museum floor surrounded by one of America’s greatest historical attractions. What an amazing setting and a great day!!
Here are a few favorites from earlier today:

With our senior photo shoots, whenever we can, we like to integrate things from the students lifestyle (hobbies, sports, etc.) into their photos to make them more unique and personal. No long ago we photographed some senior pics for Bridget. She’s a musical genius and plays a lot of different instruments so we incorporated that into her shoot and I made a pretty cool montage from those images which I thought I would share:

Yesterday we had a great photo shoot with the Zalla family. We did photos at the park where the kids could run and play and have a good time. My favorite part about these types of shoots is that the images really tell a story about the family dynamic and they are best presented in a storyboard or series so I put a few together here:

I’m honored to say that out of 250 michigan wedding and portrait photographers we’re right near the top but we could definitely use your help to get us to #1. You all helped vote us #1 the last two years in a row so if you still love what we do, we’re hoping you can take the time to vote again!
Voting is super easy and only takes a minute.

This afternoon we photographed Michael’s senior pics. He’s heavily involved in theatre and drama over at Walled Lake Central High which helped a lot because he was super relaxed in front of the camera and took direction really well which made for a great photo shoot.
Here are a few photos from this afternoon’s shoot:

Yesterday Cheridy and I had the pleasure of dining at the fabulous Royal Park Hotel’s brunch buffet. We’ve shot so many weddings at the Royal Park Hotel and we’ve always heard about their incredible Sunday Brunch so we were super excited to have the chance to check it out. I can say that it did not disappoint!! This has to be the best Sunday brunch buffet in Rochester…it’s ridiculously amazing!
They have everything from an omelet bar, bacon, sausage, fruit, muffins, etc all the way to a stir fry bar, roast beef, ice cream, incredible dessert…wow…my mouth just watered just thinking about how good it was.
We were so full from that one meal that we barely ate anything else all day!
If anyone is looking for a really nice place to go for a meal, go check it out and be hungry!!
Here’s a bit of our iphonetography that we did while there:

Here’s a pic of Ameer who made me the best omelet I ever ate:

Yesterday we worked another amazing wedding with the staff at Emerald City Designs and Meadowbrook Hall in Rochester Hills. Chris and Melissa had so much fun it was contagious and you could see the joy on their faces all day long. The decor and flowers done by Emerald City were crazy awesome and we also enjoyed getting to work with Ryan and his team from Epic Motion along with ShutterBooth who is always a party favorite.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from yesterday’s wedding:

This afternoon we did photos with Jordan. Jordan is the son of Sharon is a former student of mine. He has a really rugged look and my favorites were the serious face photos as they showed off his eyes the best. Here’s a few of my favorites:
