This afternoon we spent a wonderful hour with Jeff and Molly doing their engagement photos. I had met Molly at the time she booked us but I had never met Jeff and neither of them had met Cheridy so it ended up being a wonderful opportunity for the four of us to get to know each other and have some fun.
We walked around downtown and took a bunch of cool pics.
Here’s some favs:
The current issue of InFrame magazine published an article about one of our weddings from earlier this summer. Bessie and Sina had an incredible wedding at the Detroit Opera House back in June. You can read more about it in the article: http://www.arisingimages.com/blog/images/2009-09/inframe.pdf
This morning we had a great photo shoot with Jim and Joan with their yacht at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. Jim is the father of Paige and a couple years ago we filled Paige and her husband’s Doctors office with large fine art canvas prints for their office. We also photographed their son Jake’s senior pics so it was nice to be able to photograph yet another part of the family. Jim and Joan have an amazing yacht and it was really cool to be able to photograph them on the boat and in/around their yacht club.
Here are a few favorite pics from this morning:
One of the funnest parts of our job is getting to know our new clients. We love meeting new people and the engagement session is a great opportunity to walk and talk and have a good time. We definitely had a lot of fun with Tom and Kristin during their engagement pics yesterday afternoon.
Here’s just a couple teaser pics from their photo shoot.
Today we spent a spectacular day with Eric and Jenny. They are a beautiful and laid back couple who loved to laugh with each other. The timing of the day went perfect, the weather was perfect, everything went off without a hitch.
Most of the day was spent at the incredible Royal Park Hotel and then we did some photos of the two of them in nearby downtown Rochester, MI.
Here’s a few favorites from today:
I haven’t posted too much personal stuff lately, but yesterday Mayz was practicing his ABCs so I had to shoot a quick video clip. He’s a couple months shy of 2 years old.
Saturday we spent an incredible day with our friends Rob and Gabrielle. Over the last year and a half we really bonded with them which made for a great wedding day. The thing that touched me the most about the two of them is all the subtle little gestures they made towards each other while they didn’t know anyone was watching.
Our favorite limo driver Glenn from Gii Comm drove the four of us out to Ann Arbor where we did their wedding day photo shoot. We then headed back to the Inn at St. Johns where the Atrium was decorated out and looking amazing.
For the second week in a row we got to work with two of our other favorite vendors Laura Davis who helped coordinate everything and Mel Ball and Colours who’s band rocked out the reception.
This morning we were able to help out for a project at church. 15 leaders from the 5 Kensington Church campuses came out for some fun head shots today. They are in charge of leading and teaching the students. We’re looking forward to seeing the service to see what they do with the pics.
This was a weekend of weddings for Michigan alums. Go Blue!!! It’s been a while since I’ve been back on campus after graduating there myself back in ‘94. We hadn’t photographed a wedding at the League until yesterday so it was pretty cool to be back and work at a new venue. Mike and Tori had a very unique wedding in that nearly 200 guests flew in from out of town which is pretty amazing! I think that just about everyone there was on the dance floor too. Mel Ball and Colours packed the dance floor the whole night!
Saturday we shot a wedding at the amazing Royal Park Hotel which is one of Michigan’s finest wedding venues. Dan and Young had an amazing day together. Everything went off without a hitch and the day was filled with fun and laughter. We also had the chance to work with the fabulous Laura Davis who did a great job keeping the event running smooth.
