We recently shot promotional photos for the unique & modern La Sala Banquet Center in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Our good friend Kristan Cheers is their director of catering and we were more than happy to form a partnership with this great venue for weddings, social events, corporate events and wine tastings. Yesterday we photographed an intimate and beautiful wedding with about 70 people in the Royal Park conservatory for Hakjin & Sinae. The event was put together perfectly by Emerald City Designs in Farmington, MI. The bride Sinae has a real flair for fashion and it showed; She was wearing the coolest shoes we had ever seen! It was an interesting day because no English was spoken; This actually allowed us to experience everything with a strong focus on emotion rather than words.
Last week we took modern unique senior pics for Juli in downtown Rochester, MI. The weather was great, if not a little windy, but Juli was really good about working with the elements! We did senior photos for her older sister Cari a few years back as well and were happy that she was able to come along and share the experience one more time.
It was really easy to get great urban & nature themed engagement pictures with Mike and Erin; They have a very light and fun dynamic between them. Erin even titled their shoot “the bald and the beautiful!” We loved capturing the banter and affection between them at our outdoor Auburn Hills photo shoot and look forward to photographing their November wedding as well!
The last couple of days, Cheridy and I took the boys out to South Haven for a short getaway. We rented a house from some friends of our that live two blocks from the water. We had two days of spectacular weather to play in the sand, do a little wrestling, and Cheridy and I even got to toss a football around.

The recent outdoor engagement photo shoot for Cheung & Sinae was on a perfect weather day in the downtown area of Rochester. This incredibly sweet couple has a great sense of humor; their playful personalities really showed on camera. We look forward to capturing their fall wedding next month at the Royal Park and helping create more memorable images.
last week we took creative outdoor senior pictures for easy-going Jessica in downtown Rochester, MI. Jessica is on the WLC swim and tennis teams and was really good-natured and easy to photograph. We love capturing edgy, urban looks for senior portraits and Jessica definitely added her own style and flair.
Our recent outdoor photo shoot with 2010 Olympic silver medalists in ice dancing, Meryl Davis & Charlie White was a lot fun; These two have endless energy, smiles, and laughs! The morning weather was rather chilly and windy, but Meryl and Charlie were not phased as they spend several hours a day on the ice. While not a romantic couple, these two have a great friendship and have been skating together for over 12 years, the longest running ice dance partnership in the U.S. The fan they encountered during the shoot said it best: “Go USA!”
last week we did an extensive commercial shoot for NORMA Group in Auburn Hills, MI. NORMA Group specializes in Engineered Joining Technologies and their applications know-how make cleaner, more efficient use of precious energy sources in areas such as Cooling System, Air Intake & Induction, Emission Control, Ancillary System and Infrastructure. The brochure and advertisement photos we took for them showcase the people and places at the center of NORMA group, which operates all over the globe.
This weekend we got to take outdoor summer engagement pictures with lighthearted couple Bob and Sherri at a very cool park in Taylor MI, Heritage Park. This couple loves to laugh and we love to capture it! Bob and Sherri have the joy and energy of teenagers and personality to spare! Bob brought along his beautiful 1967 Pontiac convertible and we got some really awesome shots. We will also be photographing their late fall wedding; we can’t wait to see how these two will celebrate!
This past week we did a really fun photo shoot with our friends the Cesarios. When photographing young families we love the photos to be casual with the kids playing and having fun while the parents tickle and goof around with the kids. Their family was perfect for that.
After a short but fun shoot, they decided to give the mud pit a try and all four of their kids jumped in with reckless abandon. These kids were not afraid to get muddy and boy did they ever have a blast!!!
Last week we went to visit Jonah, who is the 15 year old son of a woman Cheridy used to play soccer with. Jonah who is an all-star athlete was diagnosed with bone cancer about 3 years ago. He has since had his leg amputated and been going through rigorous treatments all of which did not cure him.
Jonah is currently at home on hospice care to live out his last days in comfort. Please pray that Jonah’s heart and mind can be at peace. Please pray for strength for his parents as they are losing a son. Please pray for Jonah’s brothers who are losing a brother.
I just wanted to give a quick thanks to some of the Detroit Lions players for coming out to cheer up Jonah. Nick Harris, Jason Hansen, Zack Follet, and Paul Pratt are all class acts.
