An emotional wedding with Brad and Lauren at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, MI

Today was definitely one of the most emotional weddings I’ve shot in a while. Brad and Lauren are incredible people with amazing families. We were privileged to photograph their special day. I’m not a super emotional person, but I found myself tearing up on many occasions both during the wedding and later in the night when I was looking through some of their photos.
The ceremony was at the Grosse Pointe Academy Chapel which is a beautiful church and the perfect venue for an intimate wedding. It was followed by the wedding reception held at the Royal Park Hotel’s conservatory.
There was laughter, tears, and even a little jumping on the bed which must have been a nice stress reliever after an emotional roller coaster they’ve been on for the last few weeks.
Gayle from Events to Envy did an incredible job putting this wedding together in just a couple weeks!
I also want to send out an extra special thanks to Connie Falmer from Studio 405 for second shooting for me today. Cheridy has a crazy sinus infection and fever and could barely stand up. Connie was available to help out and did a great job. These are two of probably the most important images of the wedding day and she shot these:

For years, I’ve been trying to really grasp things like aperature and shutter speed. I took a photography class, got a couple good photography books, and read my camera manual hoping to start using the "creative zones." But, in between these attempts, I kept forgetting what little I understood.
Not anymore! Thanks to Prem of Arising Images, I am off the auto settings and will never go back! His ability to explain the technical aspects of photography in simple to understand terms made all the difference, as did the chance to practice what we learned right in class. The Photoshop DVD lessons are so helpful, too. I never knew what a difference using Photoshop could make to my photos. It is amazing! If you really want to take your photography to the next level, this is the class for you. I strongly suggest reading the manual before class, as recommended, and experimenting a little with your camera as you do. It is a fast-paced day of learning A LOT. Come prepared, and you will take away enough to make it worth every penny and then some. Donna |

| Arising Images provides an opportunity to learn the basics of beginning and/or intermediate photography in a comprehensive 8 hour day which, in my opinion, beats having to attend a class weekly for a period of time which doesn’t help me carryover the material. The class is adapted to accommodate various skill levels additionally. I was most impressed by the organization of the course…having some lecture material and breaking up for hands-on exercise stations to immediately apply what you just learned was extremely helpful! This also includes the brief, reader-friendly manual which ultimately breaks down the technical aspects easily with photo examples– I found it much easier to understand and has much more functional application than other long photography instruction books I have tried to comprehend. Oh, and how handy it is to have a take home DVD tutorial to be able to refer to more lessons, including photoshop, in user friendly demonstrations and at your convenience! Bonus! The hospitable and welcoming environment makes it all the more enjoyable as well. A highly recommended “crash course”…. five stars or more!!! Amy |

I took your intro photography class this time last year. Since then I have taken many other photography classes and I have to say you were by far head and shoulders above the rest. I just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to this great hobbie and helping me look at the world a little differently. |
