Destination Wedding in New York City with Russ and Delicia

This weekend has been a bit of an adventure to say the least. Cheridy and I only do destination wedding photography on a rare occasion and this happened to be it. Russ and Delicia had an awesome wedding in New York. We left on Thursday morning and due to weather and seemingly endless other issues, our flight was rerouted to Pittsburgh for refueling at which point they told us that we could either get off the plane or go back to Detroit because we weren’t going to be able to fly to New York that day. With the wedding the next day, we had to get there ASAP so we got off the plane. Northwest airlines wouldn’t allow us to get our luggage off the plane so not only did we have to rent a car and drive from Pittsburgh to Manhattan, but we also had to buy all new clothes. We had decided that since it was only a 1.5 hour flight, this would be a good trip to bring Mayz along with Cheridy’s sister Amber who was going to help watch Mayz while we worked. However, the 1.5 hour flight ended up being a 17 hour ordeal and thankfully Mayz is a ridiculously good kid who put up without much fuss. Unfortunately that ordeal took away the only day that we had to go around and see the city.
We were just thankful to get there with plenty of time before the wedding.
The wedding turned out amazing and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for Russ and Delicia. We shot the wedding on Friday and then went around the city with them on Saturday for a photo shoot.
