BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS
PHOTO 102 - HANDS-ON FUNDAMENTALS

This is for the May 20th, 2012 Photo 102 class

The class cost is $225

In this class, we will recap the basics of photography including - Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, Exposure Compensation and White Balance. We will recap how these things impact your images along with how, when, and why you want to be able to control them and not leave your camera on automatic.
Most of the workshop will be spent doing hands-on training so make sure to have your camera. We will end with some live editing demostrations using Photoshop Elements where we walk through the step-by-step of editing each photo.
It is NOT required to have taken Photo 101, however, if you have not been through it and do not have any previous photography education experience, then you will need to also get the Photo 102 prep disk that contains videos of all the info from Photo 101 that is applicable to Photo 102. If you purchase the prep disk at the same time as your Photo 102 registration, it will be 50% off.

If you don't know anything about our business or who we are or what we do, then scroll to the bottom and watch the slideshow. Also, you can read some testimonials by clicking this text.

You will be provided your class book, that will walk you through the fundamentals of photography when you arrive for the class.

This class is available to anyone over 16 years old and you can have pretty much any camera that allows for manual adjustments. The people that typically benefit the most are those with SLR cameras such as a Canon Rebel, Nikon D5000, or similar. By the end of the class, most people that attend with point and shoot cameras realize how limiting their camera actually is and end up upgrading. That being said, the fundamentals can still be learned even if you have a point and shoot camera and most classes have a couple people with point and shoots so don't let that deter you from signing up.

Pre-requisite:
It is advised that you have gone through Photo 101, viewed the Photo 101 entire class via video, or watched the Photo 102 Prep Video.
In Photo 102 we will have some classroom recap of all the major terms (aperture, shutter speed, exposure compensation, iso, and white balance), however, it will be more of a recap where we will go through everything a lot quicker than we did in Photo 101 so that you can spend more time doing the hands-on work.
If you already have some previous photography experience, that's fine too, it's just preferred that you are not hearing everything for the very first time or you will find yourself behind from where other students are.

Camera and lens: preferrably an SLR camera but point and shoot cameras with full manual options can be used

Optional (but helpful):
Tripod (can be used for a number of different demos but if you don't have one, you can use and share mine)
Cable release (will use for one demo if you have one)
External flash (will use for one demo if you have one)
