What a beautiful Michigan wedding in Detroit we just got to shoot, and our first one this August. Jon and Christine had their entire wedding at the Fillmore Theater in Detroit – both the ceremony and the reception. During the cocktail hour, the staff flips the room from rows of chairs to tables for dinner and dance floor for dancing.
The lighting in the Fillmore is not easy to work with but we find ourselves up to the challenge and our clients, as well as potential couples, find our Fillmore wedding photography to be just what they were looking for. We also hear from the staff there that they love our photos and they use them all the time.
Jon and Christine were ready for this day and were not letting their wedding nerves get to them. They got ready at the Marriott Renaissance Center in Detroit and, so they could spend their favorite day together rather than hiding from one another, they chose to do a first look. We get a nice and quiet space set, without people around so they have one part of the day to share quietly and without outside pressure to just say what they want, give each other gifts or just hug each other. Then, without wondering or worrying, they are enjoying each other the whole rest of the day!
We did a little side trip for some wedding photos in Detroit where we shot the bridal party group and did a bit where it was just the two of them together. After that, we made our way to the Fillmore where we got to shoot a few more Detroit wedding pics of the two of them. They were so wonderful together, they laughed the whole day and really looked like they were soaking it all in.
At the reception they took the opportunity to incorporate and show his kids how much they love them and they did special dances with them, it was so sweet. There was a great big dance floor and with their band it seemed like everyone was dancing with them.
