The workshop is $100
This will be a small group lecture style class (max 30 people) where we will cover all the basics of digital photography and it will be suited for ANYONE with a digital camera who is a photo enthusiast. NO previous knowledge, skill, or experience is required.
The class will start out at a very simple level and discuss different types of cameras and accessories necessary to further develop your photographic hobby.
The class will then move into a discussion on photographic composition to give you some tips and ideas of things to look for when taking photos to make them more interesting.
Everyone that’s really interested in learning photography wants to know how to take their camera off of automatic mode to get better results with their photos. We will get into the specifics of what your camera is doing and how to control it, to get better images. This will start to get a little more technical as we talk about the main subjects – Aperture, Shutter Speed, Exposure compensation, ISO, and White Balance. We will explain these fundamentals and show how these things impact your images along with how, when, and why you want to be able to control them so you won’t need to leave your camera on automatic.
We will explain which of these settings are possible to edit with basic point and shoot cameras all the way through more complex SLR cameras.

This class is available to anyone 14 years and older. Under 18 needs to be accompanied by a parent or guardian registered for a separate fee.

Whatever camera you have (no matter how basic), pen, notepad, and smiling face!

Our studio is located in Orion, MI, off of Baldwin, about 10 minutes north of Great Lakes Crossing.
