Here at Arising Images photography studio, we’ve been photographing high school seniors for over 10 years, and we’ve seen some senior picture blunders along the way. We thought we’d share our wisdom with you so that you can have the best experience this year! A good night’s sleep goes a long way.
This one is pretty self-explanatory. You just don’t want bloodshot eyes or bags in your senior photos. Get rest!
Photographers like when you share your ideas with them!
Senior pictures are all about you! It’s a participation event. Definitely speak up about a cool pose or style you want to try.
A lint roller, hairbrush, oil blotters, and some hairspray can be life savers for last minute wardrobe or hair emergencies. Also, ladies, if you’re planning on wearing some amazing heels, bringing shoes other than your favorite stilettos to get from point A to point B might be a good idea. Unless you’re a heel pro. In that case… challenge accepted.
You get what you pay for.
A lot goes into pricing, including photographer’s experience, the quality of products to purchase, and skill level used in editing and retouching… if you go for someone who is cheap, expect a cheap experience & product as well. Remember that these photos are commemorating a milestone in your life! You want them to be something you love and something that lasts. Your BFF who took a photography class might not be the person to trust with that.
Prep the day before.
Get everything together the day before so you can make sure you have all of the jewelry, sports memorabilia or props that you are hoping to incorporate into the shoot. That way if you find you need to do any last minute errands, you don’t have to do it the day of your photo shoot. You’ll save yourself a lot of time and stress the day of.
