One of the absolute best things about being in the photography business is the relationships we make. This wedding was a very special wedding to us! The lucky groom has been a client of ours before. We actually photographed Michael’s senior portraits several years ago, and even at that time, he and Melissa were dating! This beautiful couple has been together for 10 years, and getting to be present for their big day was a huge honor. You all know how much we love Royal Park Hotel wedding photography, but this one is extra special. Something about all the happiness, laughter, and happy tears made it a joy to be around. It really felt like everyone there was taking in those once-in-a-lifetime moments.
We started our day with this BEAUTIFUL blushing bride and her bridesmaids. Her fitted gown with an open back was the perfect complement to her cathedral veil. After she was done prepping for the day, we got to witness two of the most precious first look moments we’ve ever seen. Between Melissa’s first look with her dad and her first look with Michael, there wasn’t a dry eye around. Melissa and Michael make a seriously beautiful couple! Take a look at some of their portraits below, all taken around the Royal Park Hotel grounds!
Now it’s time to get married! We’ve said this before, and we’ll say it again: the Royal Park Hotel conservatory is one of our all-time favorite wedding ceremony locations. The industrial beaming, the flood of natural light, and the stunning chandelier are the perfect amount of simple elegance that keeps the focus directly on the bride and groom. Their ceremony was sweet and touching. We loved it!
Time to dance the night away! As always, the Royal Park Hotel pulled out all the stops. Our Royal Park Hotel wedding photography is never lacking in elegance, drama, and beauty. These soft pink and white florals were paired with long-stemmed candles and gold accents. Their lounge furniture surrounding the dance floor was the perfect finishing touch to their romantic reception.
A huge congratulations to Michael and Melissa! We wish you two all the happiness in the world.

Our 2018 weddings are just blowing us out of the water! We returned to the lovely Royal Park Hotel for David and Lauren’s wedding late last month. It’s one of our favorite Metro Detroit wedding venues (read why we love it here!), and every time we photograph a wedding or event here, we love how the photos come out. Royal Park Hotel wedding photography is not only lovely and elegant, but the little touches that this venue provides as well as the beautiful grounds make it the perfect spot for a romantic wedding.
We started this warm spring day in Lauren’s bridal suite. She and her bridesmaids finished up getting ready, and our stunning bride slipped into her mermaid style lace dress and cathedral veil. Her entire bridal look was soft and romantic – and absolutely breathtaking! After their sweet first look, we took David and Lauren around the grounds of the hotel, taking photos of the two of them as we went. The weather felt more like July than May, but we were able to get some amazing portraits! We also took some photos with Lauren’s son; these three make an adorable family! One of our favorite parts of the day was seeing how well David got along with Lauren’s son – for a minute we thought we had gotten it wrong and he was David’s son! Either way, we loved how much David and Lauren involved him in the day, from the ceremony and vows, down to the first dance and cake cutting!
Take a look at some of these photos from the first part of the day!
It’s time to get married! The conservatory is one of our absolute favorite wedding ceremony venues. The glass walls and ceiling provide natural light, and the chandelier, fountain, and soft curtains make the room cozy and welcoming. These two had the sweetest ceremony and a beautiful huppah! All their decor choices made for a truly beautiful wedding ceremony.
As we move to the reception, the day only gets better. We can’t even describe how beautiful the ballroom was – just take a look at the photos! One thing we love about Royal Park Hotel Wedding photography is that the ballroom can transform into any vision. We have seen this very room be everything from hot pink, to an icy blue, to soft yellows. Lauren and David created a romantic wonderland with wild greenery, pastel florals, and gold touches lit by candlelight. Everything was beautifully done!

Early this month, we photographed a magical wedding at the Royal Park Hotel. We’re well acquainted with this venue, yet it wows us every single time. Holly and Bill had the wedding of their dreams here, and from the getting ready photos all the way to the end of the reception, the Royal Park grounds provided them with exactly what they needed. Royal Park Hotel wedding photography is always so diverse, elegant, and beautiful.
Our day started in Holly’s hotel suite, as we captured stunning photos of her getting ready for the big day. Bill looked very dapper as he finished up getting ready as well. They had their first look in the gardens of the hotel, and enjoyed an intimate portrait session together before the ceremony. This bride and groom were so stunning together, every photo we captured was beautiful and romantic. Sorry Bill, but I think we can all agree that Holly steals the show in her breathtaking dress!!
After these two had their portraits taken, the ceremony begins. The Royal Park Hotel conservatory is still one of our favorite ceremony venues. The glass walls and ceiling make for such bright, natural light. The simple, romantic setup was perfect for these two. The sweetest moment must have been when Holly was escorted down the aisle by her kids. It’s so clear that they’re happy for her, and it was a touching moment!
The Royal Park Hotel is known for its amazing wedding reception setups, and Bill and Holly did not disappoint. They definitely chose the right vendors! To see the full list of vendors they used, scroll to the bottom of this post. Weddings with extremely talented vendors make our photos so much easier to take – so we loved photographing this wedding! Bill and Holly’s vision turned out perfectly.
Everyone danced the night away in this gorgeous room. Thank you so much to Bill and Holly for trusting us with your wedding photos! We are so in love with how they turned out. We wish you the absolute best in your future together!
