There is so much to say about our recent senior session with Ian, I don’t know where to begin! Ian is the kind of guy whose name gets turned into a verb. His personality and everything about him is so absolutely unique. Instead of giving him posing direction during his shoot, we would say things like, “Just do an Ian!”. What we loved about him is that he doesn’t care what anyone thinks and he doesn’t try to impress anyone. Ian has no problem showing you who he is and being himself. It’s refreshing to see someone his age with that mindset! Since Ian is 100% one of a kind, he wanted to make sure that his senior pictures were completely different and really showed off his personality and his interests. He had a lot of ideas for specific shots that he wanted to create and we were super pumped to make it happen for him!
For the first part of Ian’s senior session he came to our studio. He is a super talented musician on the guitar and double bass and he hopes to make a career from it in the future. With some inspiration from Bryan Adams and Ian’s incredibly animated personality, we were able to get a ton of fun shots of him playing his guitar. It was a blast getting some photos that were totally different than your stereotypical guitar senior pictures! Afterwards, he changed into a tux for a more classic look so we could get some shots of him with his bass as well. Still in his tux, Ian wanted to recreate one of his favorite Elvis Costello photos. He brought along an awesome old camera and we were able to capture some really cool retro pictures of him. We finished off the first part of his senior session with a bang! Ian brought the perfect outfit and his white saab and with a little help from photoshop, we recreated a Back to the Future photo of him. Everything turned out awesome! It was definitely one of the most unique and animated shoot we’ve ever done.
The pictures we got from the first part of Ian’s session were awesome, but we still needed to get some nice senior pictures for his parents to have as well. For the second part of his session we went to downtown Lake Orion. There was a ton of awesome fall color and an endless amount of backgrounds for his pictures. Ian is such a blast to work with. His fun personality and goofy poses kept us laughing the whole time. He’s so natural in front of the camera which made for a ton of awesome pics. I can’t even describe how much fun we had getting to know Ian! We are so excited he chose us to take his senior pictures and now we can’t wait to show them off!
Feel free to leave Ian a comment about his senior session or best wishes as he begins his senior year at Oxford High School!
